Jeffrey Bezos led Amazon is hosting its first Career Day on September 16. The event will be stretched over two days and starts at 10 am. The event is headlined by Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, who will speak about his own career experience and advice for job-seekers, Amit Agarwal, Global Senior Vice President and Country Head of Amazon India will deliver the opening India keynote, followed by panel discussions with Amazon leaders and employees to decode ‘Life at Amazon’, its unique workplace culture and what makes Amazon a great place to work at. Certain sessions have already been sold out, due to the stellar lineup that is headlining.
It is a virtual interactive session aimed at providing over 8000 job openings in over 35 cities across the country including, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Noida, Coimbatore, Kanpur, Ludhiana, Pune, Surat, Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Chennai, Gurgaon and Jaipur. The job openings are targeted towards operational, corporate, technology among other services.
Apart from these over 100, Amazon employees will provide one on one career coaching sessions for 2000 job seekers. This session will include tips on how to get the job, things to look out for and what to do to get that job. Job seekers will also get to hear from the employees who will speak about their experience at Amazon. This move is aimed towards hiring people across cities and rural areas. Today Amazon has over 100,000 employees across different sectors. This will further cement Amazon’s stance as the leading e-commerce giant.
This new venture fits into Amazon’s plan of creating over 20 lakh direct and indirect jobs in India by 2025. Amazon has aligned with the government for creating more job opportunities and integration of the youth. It is a brilliant chance for anyone who is planning to work at a multinational company and gain experience under the tutelage of industry experts and veterans. It is an amazing learning experience for someone relatively new to the job-seeking field and looking into developing their interview skills and polishing their profile.
